About Us: Phytochemistry Research Center
The Phytochemistry Research Center began its activities informally in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Shahid Beheshti University and the H.E.J. Research Center in Pakistan in 2006. After conducting various research projects in phytochemistry, it successfully obtained official approval in 2016.
With an experienced faculty and laboratories for the isolation, purification, and synthesis of chemical compounds, the Phytochemistry Research Center has carried out numerous research projects to discover biologically active compounds. In close collaboration with the comprehensive research laboratory of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, the center has organized many specialized training workshops, including principles and applications of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, introduction to solid-phase peptide synthesis, and practical principles of preparative liquid chromatography.
The center has numerous joint projects in collaboration with the H.E.J. Research Center in Pakistan, particularly with Dr. Iqbal Choudhry. The dispatch of students for specialized courses in pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and molecular medicine through the Phytochemistry Research Center to the H.E.J. Center, which is one of the most reputable research centers for medicinal plants in the world, has provided extensive research opportunities for students and the center.
